Kendall Plantation

A unique, elegant, sophisticated, yet affordable
San Antonio wedding venue nestled in the Texas Hill Country

Built in 2011 (from the ground up!), the name Kendall Plantation represents the county in which it rests (Kendall) and the architecture of a Southern antebellum home. The décor, colors, and details were inspired by the design and unique architecture of the 19th century deep South.

Featured on The Knot and Wedding Wire as a true southern Texas wedding venue, Kendall Plantation features romantic Antebellum-style architecture with exquisitely detailed and elegant décor, chosen to blend with any wedding color scheme. The focal point of Kendall Plantation is the spectacular grand ballroom, which showcases a spacious dance floor and room for up to 400 guests. Additional seating can be set up outside on the wrap around porches, where your guests may enjoy spectacular views of the Texas Hill Country.

Kendall Plantation offers two distinct ceremony options. Your first option, is an outdoor gazebo overlooking a picturesque natural spring-fed pond. As a second option, an indoor ceremony can take place at the foot of a cascading staircase. The indoor reception takes place in the mansion’s resplendent ballroom space with a second-story, indoor wrap-around balcony, overlooking the ballroom.

Kendall Plantation is the most elegant wedding ceremony and wedding reception venue in the Texas Hill Country. We are excited to help make all your wedding dreams come true, ensuring you are able to focus on creating memories and experiencing special moments on your wedding day.

“It has been my dream to get married at Kendall Plantation for as long as I can remember. I am so thankful we were able to! It is such a stunning venue. I fell in love with the elegance and romantic charm. I told my husband I would look at other venues just so he felt like he was included in the decisions, however, after every meeting with other vendors, we would leave saying, ‘Kendall Plantation is so much prettier;’ or ‘Kendall plantation gives you so much more for your money;’ or ‘Kendall Plantation has a better vendor list;’ and ‘Kendall Plantation doesn’t look like the others,’ etc.

Kristin was never pushy about anything either, which I greatly appreciated. All in all, it was a no-brainer to book at Kendall Plantation. The list of vendors she partners with are the best in the business. We used several of them and were blown away by everyone’s talent and professionalism. I can honestly say, nothing went wrong on my wedding day; thanks to a great venue and the vendors we used. It was such a good feeling to wake up on my wedding day knowing all our vendors were seasoned professionals and they had all worked together so often, they could run a wedding in their sleep. Looking back, I wouldn’t change a single thing or choose anyone differently to work with. It was truly a perfect day!”

The Day of Rehearsal

(You need to read this)→ Day of wedding rehearsal? (You need to read this)

Are you interested in stress relief? Us too. By the way, there is no rule that says you MUST have a wedding rehearsal.

With just about 1,000 weddings hosted at Kendall Plantation, we know how to eliminate unneeded stress.  Hosting a rehearsal the morning of your wedding is one of the most stress-relieving things you can do. Promise. I am sure most of you have been in a wedding before, whether it be a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, at some point, the bride requested you be in town or available the day before the wedding, or days before the wedding, for a rehearsal. Admit it, you had a little eye roll when you found out you had to be at a rehearsal at 3pm on a Thursday or Friday before a wedding. You had to take off work early, or the entire day, you had an extra hotel night to pay for, and you likely had to purchase a new wardrobe for the rehearsal. Just to follow the person in front of you and stand in a line. Ya, we get it. There are numerous benefits of hosting a day-of rehearsal, but we narrowed it down for you to our 5 favorite reasons to skip the unnecessary stressor.

  1. Doing a day of rehearsal allows you to plan your rehearsal dinner anywhere, anytime. You don’t have to search for a nearby restaurant and worry about timing of the dinner and traffic getting to and from the venue to the restaurant. Gather with your besties and enjoy the stress-free evening at your favorite hangout spot, or favorite restaurant, and relax. You can even do the rehearsal portion at the dinner location. A Rehearsal can be done anywhere- at any time other than the venue. BONUS: If you have a wedding planner/day of planner or coordinator, guess what? They are going handle all the details the day of. They will be there to direct traffic and tell the wedding party exactly what to do and where to stand that day. Why do it twice?

  2. Out of town guests/travelers? Awesome! Save them an extra day and let them get settled in before the celebrations commence! Day of wedding rehearsals give your out-of-towners a little wiggle room in case of travel delays, traffic, and or unexpected flight changes.

  3. 10am-Midnight. That is how long you have the Kendall Plantation. That’s 14 hours folks. Ample time to run a day of rehearsal in the morning, or even afternoon of the wedding depending on your timeline. How many times have you been at a rehearsal the day before the wedding and you are waiting on the last bridesmaid or groomsmen to arrive? Ugh! Without fail, someone is always late and will put you way behind schedule for getting the rehearsal dinner started. When you host the rehearsal on the day of the wedding, it’s real. Real, real. The wedding party will switch into wedding mode and be more focused and ready. And guess what, it will be fresh on their mind too, because the wedding is the same day. You can even sweet talk the wedding party and promise them coffee and tacos the morning of the rehearsal. Once the rehearsal is over, the girls head straight to the brides room and begin their hair and make-up. Boom, everyone already there, and ready to jump right into the wedding day preps. The guys can hang out at the venue, but we mostly see them all jump in a car and head to SA (10 minutes away) and hit Top Golf, or grab a quick lunch, maybe even bowling. Ohhh…you don’t want to see the Groom on the day of the wedding? Good. (We love that tradition!). We typically see the bride stashed in the bridal suite during the rehearsal. The bride already knows what to do! Am I right?! The rehearsal can just be for the bridal party and the groom! Let’s face it, you have had this planned out for some time now, and you already know exactly what to do when it’s go time. Don’t forget about that planner you hired! The planner will follow your wishes/guidelines for the rehearsal, so everything will be just as it should be. Trust the process, trust the professionals, we got this!

  4. Guys coming in later? Cool, don’t panic. When the girls arrive at KP to start hair and make-up at 10am, do a quick run through with just the bridesmaids, 15-20 minutes tops. Then, when the guys arrive later in the day, the planner can do a run through with them too. Now both parties have practiced their steps, and know exactly what to do, and it is fresh on their minds! Feeling better about the day of rehearsal yet?

  5. It’s just a quick walkthrough (everyone knows how to walk, correct?). Don’t over-rate the rehearsal. The procession down the aisle and standing at the alter are self-explanatory. Don’t over think it. Don’t let other people make you crazy about these things. Have a dinner if you want, don’t if you don’t. Absolutely not necessary. The planner will help everyone get down the aisle, and the officiant will take it from there and tell you exactly what to do.

We only looked at the Kendall Plantation when deciding a wedding venue and immediately fell in love. The venue can be as elegant or as minimal as you want it to be, but on either end of the spectrum, your wedding will be absolutely beautiful. Kristin has a list of preferred vendors for brides who need help with where to start, but you are welcome to use vendors of your choice, besides catering and bar-tending – which is truly for your sanity because the vendors the venue uses for catering and bar-tending know their niche and have it down to an art at the Kendall. I cannot say enough good things about how smoothly the day went, from Kristin giving us a floor plan for our head count to working closely with our wedding coordinator. I hope every bride has the same experience I did because this venue made for the best wedding I could’ve dreamed of!

Kendall Plantation is a dream wedding venue! It was the first place we visited when we started wedding planning. No other venue could compare after that first visit. We knew we had to be married at the Kendall Plantation and quickly booked our wedding date. Kristin (the owner) is very welcoming. It is evident that Kristin goes above and beyond with her keen insight and vendor list to make sure each bride has her own unique and special day. She made herself available for us from the day we toured/booked the venue until we finally tied the knot. She was an amazing person to work with. We were married on 12/29 and forecasts showed chances of rain. Kristin had a plan b for us to be married indoors and reassured us she could put the plan into action if needed. Luckily, it was a beautiful, cold day with no rain. Having that reassurance from Kristin is one of the many reasons we felt good about choosing Kendall Plantation. Kendall Plantation is a breathtaking wedding venue. I would highly recommend any bride or groom who is interested to take a tour. You will not be disappointed. Kendall Plantation itself is absolutely gorgeous. The list could go on and on about it’s beauty inside and out. (The staircases, chandeliers, green turf grass, large bridal/groom suites, patio, etc.) Pictures do a wonderful job of showing all of these features, but seeing it in person is even better. If we had to do it all over again… we wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you Kristin for helping our dream wedding come true. ❤️ Amanda Collazo-Garcia San Antonio, Texas

When you dream of your wedding as a little girl, you picture yourself as a beautiful bride, marrying your prince charming, in a royal castle. Kendall Plantation IS that castle! I found it scrolling through Instagram years ago, before I’d even met my husband, and I instantly fell in love. From the moment I saw it, I knew it would be part of my future. KP is the perfect presentation of elegance, romance, and timelessness. The venue is classic, yet also has such a whimsical charm. It provides the wow factor that you’d find in a grand ballroom, though much more intimate and romantic. I loved that I could get ready on site in their wonderful bridal suite and did not have to travel to my ceremony and reception. The venue and grounds provided perfect scenery for my photos. Though I added my own touches, I felt like I did not really need to add much as far as decor as the venue itself is already gorgeous and makes a statement. I liked that I could bring in almost all of my own vendors, including my own alcohol. That helped seal the deal for me. I especially appreciated Kristin’s help with recommendations – use her list – trust me. I felt comfortable contacting her throughout the planning process, and always felt like she was glad to have me as one of her brides and that my wedding was important. She’s also a straight shooter with every bride needs. I can not say enough about the Kendall Plantation. It was my dream venue and it helped give me my dream wedding.

We had our wedding here in August and it was amazing! We chose to have the ceremony inside on the staircase due to the heat and it turned out beautifully! Kristin and her team were wonderful and made the process so simple! And her list of vendors was so helpful, we got all of our amazing vendors from the list .
